| HOW THE RANKS
WORK: |
| This ranking measures a fighter's overall collection of
successes and failures in the past 36 months weighed against their opponents'
success rates in the last 36 months,
You move up the list by collecting wins against other recently
successful fighters and avoiding losses to fighters who don't have a
collection of recent success.
Everything is division-specific, so someone who has good credentials
in one division does not bring them to another division if they change
weights. |
| Every fighter is given a value for his wins, losses and draws in
the last 3 years, where he weighed within the range of this division. The value for each result is based on the
success rate of the opponent, their opponents, their opponents, and so on
down the line. Fighters remain
connected until their fight goes beyond the 3 year examination period. As a fighter becomes further-defined by
fights, so too, do all of his recent opponents. Depending on the depth of the division, it usually takes at
least 3 or 4 solid fight results to make it to the top 20 of a division. The complete list can be found at |

| In
keeping with the thought that "numbers sometimes lie", panel
members vote to modify the values attached to any fights that they feel need
intangible factors added to them.
Examples include split judging, erroneus referee decisions, no
contests, disaqualifications, and other situations where the result may not
be a simple as "win/loss".
